Arab Finance: The Egyptian National Railways (ENR) is planning to launch a tender for the development of the Tanta-Mansoura-Damietta railway line next January, Al Borsa News reported, citing sources in the know.
Project consultants Shaker Group and the multinational Systra will finalize the tender documents by the end of November, the sources revealed.
The ENR has qualified five local and international consortia to participate in the tender.
They consortia includes Alstom-El Rowad, Thales-Orascom Construction, CRSC, Siemens- Madkour Group, and South Korea’s LS Electric-Korea National Railway, the sources said.
They added that the consortia will submit their technical and financial bids between early January and February, with evaluation set to start in March.
The sources expected the signing of the project’s final contracts with the winning consortium to take place in June at the latest.
With a total investment cost of €316 million, the project stretches over 119 kilometers, connecting Tanta, Mansoura, and Damietta.
