El-Sisi reviews Egypt’s development efforts with World Economic Forum President

Arab Finance: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with Børge Brende, President of the World Economic Forum, and his accompanying delegation to discuss Egypt’s development efforts, with a focus on major projects in infrastructure, industry, and agriculture, the Spokesperson of the Egyptian Presidency Mohamed El-Shennawy announced.

The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, Minister of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdel-Atty, and Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Hassan El-Khatib.

During the meeting, El-Sisi highlighted key investment opportunities offered by these projects.

El-Sisi also stressed the significance of shared cooperation while promoting foreign private sector investment in Egypt's priority sectors, including industry, sustainable energy, telecommunications, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and transportation.

For his part, Brende praised Egypt’s substantial steps in adopting economic reforms and drawing in investments, expressing the World Economic Forum's keenness to highlight Egypt's successful experience in this field.

Brende and El-Sisi also discussed potential peace and stability in the Middle East, as well as the negative impact of ongoing conflicts in Gaza and Lebanon and the risks of further escalation, mainly on the global economic situation and peoples’ development and prosperity in the region.
