Arab Finance: Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Hassan El-Khatib met with Basil Rahmy, Chairman of the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (MSMEDA), to discuss expanding cooperation between the ministry and the agency in various sectors, as per a statement.
During the meeting, El-Khatib emphasized the importance of supporting small and medium enterprises, particularly those in the handicrafts and heritage sectors, through enhanced participation in international exhibitions and conferences.
He highlighted efforts to streamline the process for these companies to engage in global events, including providing logistical and financial support.
El-Khatib also addressed the ministry’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurship and innovation by creating an environment that encourages emerging businesses.
Moreover, he said that the government is dedicated to providing funding and resources to help these companies succeed, underscoring the critical role of small and medium enterprises in Egypt’s economic growth.
Meanwhile, Rahmy emphasized the MSMEDA’s vital role in supporting entrepreneurship and small businesses, noting the various programs and services it offers to help these companies expand.
He also highlighted the agency’s efforts to provide accessible financing, along with essential consulting and technical support, to ensure the success of entrepreneurial projects.
