Arab Finance: The Chairman of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) Waleid Gamal El-Dein attended the foundation stone laying ceremony for the CNG Egypt New Energy Glass project in the Sokhna Industrial Zone, as per a statement.
The project, affiliated with China Glass Holding, aims to establish production lines for flat glass and photovoltaic glass.
The project will cover 500,000 square meters with a total investment of $300 million and is expected to generate 1,000 jobs upon completion.
Gamal El-Dein highlighted the growing role of the SCZone's in attracting Chinese investments, noting that the SCZone has become a key destination for Chinese companies seeking growth and development opportunities.
He emphasized the strategic importance of the New Energy Glass project in supporting the renewable energy sector, as the produced photovoltaic glass will be used in solar panel manufacturing.
