CBE launches financial education campaign in collaboration with EU, GIZ

Arab Finance: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) has introduced a new financial education campaign in partnership with the European Union (EU), the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ Egypt), and the Egyptian Banking Institute, as per a statement.

The campaign aims to simplify financial concepts and promote understanding of various financial products and services, enabling citizens to make informed financial decisions and fostering trust in the banking sector.

This initiative is part of ongoing efforts by the CBE and the Egyptian government to enhance financial inclusion across all segments of society, with a particular focus on empowering women, youth, people with disabilities, the elderly, farmers, and entrepreneurs.

The campaign is an extension of the technical support project "Enhancing Financial Inclusion and Banking Supervision in Egypt," which began in November 2018 in collaboration with the EU and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

To spread awareness, the campaign has developed educational content that covers essential financial topics, including the principles of financial inclusion, entrepreneurship, financial consumer protection, inflation, and payment systems and services.

By equipping individuals with the knowledge needed to navigate financial systems, the initiative seeks to facilitate financial transactions for citizens, entrepreneurs, and investors, ultimately improving access to banking services and participation in economic activities.
