Total funding from FRA-supervised entities hit EGP 718B in 10 months

Arab Finance: Total financing allocated by the entities subject to the Financial Regulatory Authority’s (FRA) supervision amounted to EGP 718 billion during the first 10 months of 2024, according to an official statement.

These entities are engaged in capital market and non-banking financing activities.

According to the FRA’s report, stock issues made up the lion's share of total financing, amounting to EGP 397.4 billion.

Non-stock securities issues hit EGP 31.5 billion, while financial leasing contracts stood at EGP 88.4 billion.

Funding provided for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) reached EGP 76.7 billion.

Consumer finance was valued at EGP 47.4 billion during the 10-month period, while factoring securities amounted to EGP 55.8 billion and mortgages totaled EGP 20.9 billion, respectively.

Meanwhile, the value of advertisements on *movable assets registered under the collateral registry as of 30 October 2024 hit EGP 2.86 trillion.

The MSMEs’ total funding balances reached EGP 73.7 billion.

Total collected insurance premiums amounted to EGP 77.1 billion in the first 10 months of 2024, whereas the compensations paid by the insurance sector hit EGP 35.6 billion.

Private insurance funds’ investments reached EGP 22.3 billion at the end of October 2024.

The total value of insurance premiums amounted to EGP 77.1 billion.

Total premiums collected from property and liability insurance reached EGP 42.9 billion, while premiums of life insurance and savings policies amounted to EGP 34.2 billion by the end of October 2024.

Additionally, the insurance sector paid out EGP 35.6 billion in claims, EGP 16.9 billion of which were paid for property and liability insurance claims and EGP 18.7 billion for life and savings policies.
