Arab Finance: bp p.l.c has concluded the drilling works for the two additional wells at the Raven gas field in the Mediterranean Sea, the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources announced.

The works were carried out by the drilling vessel Volaris DS 12, starting the second half of 2024.

The offshore installation works for linking the wells to the existing production networks in the Mediterranean Sea are currently underway to commence production operations.

Thanks to accelerated drilling and installation works, natural gas production from the two new wells is expected to start in February 2025, three months ahead of schedule.

Currently, Volaris DS 12 is moving from the Raven field to begin exploratory drilling operations at bp’s King concession in the Mediterranean Sea.

Last December, bp’s CEO Murray Auchicloss said that his company seeks to expand operations in Egypt, with new explorations across bp’s six concessions in the country.
