Arab Finance: Egyptian Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Alaa Farouk and his Somali counterpart Asad Abdel Razek have agreed to enhance bilateral collaboration in livestock, applied research, climate change adaptation, and capacity building, as per a statement.
During their meeting, Farouk directed the dispatch of Egyptian experts and researchers to train Somali agricultural workers and announced 10 training grants in Egypt for employees of Somalia’s Ministry of Agriculture.
Additionally, Egypt’s International Center for Agriculture and research institutes will host trainees from Somalia.
Both sides also agreed to facilitate the exchange of agricultural goods based on each country’s needs.
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) will be drafted to outline areas of cooperation and implementation mechanisms.
