Egypt allocates 20-sqm for 900-MW solar power plant in New Valley

Arab Finance: Egypt has allocated 20 square kilometers in the oases of New Valley to an alliance comprising Masdar, Infinity Power, and Hassan Allam to construct a 900-megawatt solar power plant, an unnamed government official told Al Arabiya Business.

The source revealed that solar radiation and other technical studies for the project have been completed.

The project site is part of a 10,000-square-kilometer area obtained from the New and Renewable Energy Authority (NREA) by a presidential decree for renewable energy projects.

The Infinity station will be finalized by the second half (H2) of 2025, contributing significantly to Egypt’s alternative energy capacity and connecting to the national electricity grid.

The official also noted that Infinity Power is building another 300-megawatt solar station in Aswan's Benban, scheduled for completion by the end of 2025.

Total investments for both stations are estimated at $1 billion.
