Arab Finance: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) showed a varied performance on Monday, with the EGX30 index down by 0.02% to 30,436.71 points.
Both the EGX70 and EGX100 index also ended the session lower by 0.25% at 8,544.59 points and by 0.03% at 11,731.71 points, respectively.
On the other hand, the Sharia-compliant index, EGX33 Shariah index, rose by 0.09% to 3,166.84 points.
EGX’s turnover hit EGP 3.826 billion through the exchange of 1.567 billion shares over 94,193 transactions, while the market capitalization reached EGP 2.247 trillion.
Individuals accounted for 71.72% of the total trading, while institutions made up 28.27%.
Egyptian investors represented 84.7% of trading transactions, whereas foreign and Arab traders equaled 8.67% and 6.63%, respectively.
Foreign and Arab traders were sellers with EGP 232.318 million and EGP 5.341 million, respectively. Meanwhile, the Egyptian traders were net buyers with EGP 237.65 million.
