EGAS, Romania's Transgaz renew MoU for enhanced natural gas cooperation

Arab Finance: The Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) has renewed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Romania’s Transgaz to probe further cooperation in natural gas delivery activities, as per a statement.

Signed by the Executive Managing Director of EGAS Yasseen Mohamed with the Romanian party on the sidelines of the Egypt Energy Conference (EGYPES 2025), the renewal follows an initial MoU inked last October.

Transgaz is also seeking additional investment opportunities in Egypt.

Notably, the Egyptian Company for Natural Gas Distribution to Cities (Town Gas) previously secured contracts to implement natural gas pressure reduction stations within Egypt and deliver natural gas to homes and other facilities in Romania.

TownGas, a subsidiary of the petroleum sector, is the first accredited Egyptian company by the Romanian Energy Authority (ANRE) to carry out natural gas delivery projects in Europe.

During the meeting, Mohamed emphasized the importance of accelerating project implementation, describing the Romanian partnership as a strategic one that showcases confidence in the expertise of Egyptian natural gas delivery companies.
