Egypt, US probe boosting cooperation in energy field at PAS25

Arab Finance: Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi met with the US Secretary of Energy Chris Wright and discussed ways to enhance cooperation in the energy sector, as per a statement.

During the 10th Powering Africa Summit (PAS25) held from March 6th to 7th in Washington DC, the two sides addressed promoting partnerships with American companies to develop Eastern Mediterranean fields and transfer the produced natural gas to Egyptian liquefaction facilities.

This builds on the agreement signed with Chevron during the opening ceremony of the eighth edition of the Egypt Energy Show (EGYPES 2025) to develop gas production from the Cypriot Aphrodite field and connect it to liquefaction facilities in Egypt.

Over the past years, American oil firms, including Chevron and ExxonMobil, have been involved in research and exploration activities in Egypt, demonstrating notable cooperation in energy on bilateral, regional, and international levels.
