Arab Finance: Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Hassan El-Khatib has met with Indian External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar to mull ways to bolster economic and trade ties between Egypt and India, as per a statement.

Both sides asserted their commitment to expanding investment and trade cooperation.

During the meeting, El-Khatib stated that the total investments of 55 Indian companies in various sectors across Egypt are estimated at $3.75 billion.

He noted that the volume of trade exchange between Egypt and India hit nearly $4.2 billion in 2024.

The meeting also tackled the previously signed agreement in New Delhi last September to bring trade exchange between the two countries to $12 billion over the coming period.
