El-Sisi signs new labor law

Arab Finance: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi signed a new labor law on the occasion of Labor Day, as per a statement.

In a speech, El-Sisi stated that the new law covers clear benefits for workers, setting the principles of worker protection and equity.

In line with the state’s objectives to create a stable and harmonious work environment, the new law affirms the due rights of working women and improves job security guarantees for employees.

Moreover, El-Sisi called for accelerating the process of finalizing the draft law concerning domestic workers and holding a broad societal dialogue on its stipulations.

He also directed the widening of the scope of social protection to include various categories of the informal workforce and secure financial assistance in the case of death.

Moreover, the president urged the implementation of an initiative to develop youth skills through the provision of tuition-free grants. This move aims to qualify the youth for the labor market's demands.

He also called for the swift resolution of labor disputes to ensure the timely delivery of entitlements without delay.

Finally, El-Sisi ordered the establishment of a permanent committee to monitor the National Employment Strategy upon its launch.
