El Gouna launches The Chedi for luxury seekers
Updated 3/22/2023 10:28:00 AMArab Finance: El Gouna, a fully-integrated sustainable towns of Orascom Development, has launched The Chedi El Gouna, a five-star beachfront hotel, according to an emailed press release on March 21st.
The launch of the luxurious destination that targets guests seeking lavish experiences at the Red Sea comes in line with El Gouna’s vision to ramp up the Egyptian tourism sector and offer customers first-class amenities.
“Orascom Development and The Chedi have already proven to be well-matched brands, with two existing The Chedi hotels in Orascom Development's European destinations of Andermatt in Switzerland, and Luštica Bay in Montenegro,” Mohamed Amer, CEO of El Gouna, said.
Joachim Schmitt, CEO of Orascom Hotels Management, commented: “The Chedi is Orascom’s 18th hotel in El Gouna, adding luxury and quality to the thriving town by the Red Sea. Being part of the exclusive ‘Leading Hotel of the World’ association, it enhances El Gouna’s international hotel portfolio and offers a new level of hospitality within our destination.”
It is worth noting that demand for hotels in El Gouna increased remarkably in 2022, with full-year occupancy hitting 70%, of which foreigners occupied 80% of the town’s hotel rooms.
