Telecom Egypt names Mohamed Nasr Eldin as new CEO, Managing Director

Arab Finance: Telecom Egypt (ETEL) has appointed Mohamed Nasr Eldin Mohamed as Managing Director and CEO, succeeding Adel Hamed Ibrahim Gadallah, the telecom operator said in a statement dated March 28th.

The new CEO enjoys more than 20 years of experience in the telecommunications sector.

Nasr Eldin joined the firm in 2004, and he became a member of Telecom Egypt’s board of directors in July 2020, representing the government.

He undertook a number of initiatives that played a great role in boosting the company’s revenues and building on Egypt’s strategic position as a route for international submarine cables.

From May 2020 until March 2023, he served as Deputy ICT Minister for Global Information Infrastructure at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.

On the other hand, Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat met with Nasr Eldin after his appointment. During the meeting, the minister stressed the importance of Telecom Egypt’s role in achieving the country’s digital transformation plan, the ministry stated on March 28th.

Talat praised Telecom Egypt’s role in developing and investing on a large scale in the infrastructure of submarine cable systems to maximize the utilization of the country’s geographical location.
