Arab Finance: Egypt and the European Union (EU) signed a grant agreement worth $40 million provided by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) to enhance food security efforts in the North African country, Egyptian International Cooperation Ministry stated on March 30th.
Pursuant the agreement, the AICS will partner with the Egyptian Ministry of Agriculture to support the production of wheat and grains with €25 million and complete the information control system of wheat in Egypt with €15 million.
This comes within the framework of the EU food security support program in Egypt, funded by a grant worth €100 million.
