Arab Finance: Egyptian Ministry of Transport has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with an Egyptian-French consortium comprised three consulting and construction engineering companies to establish a consulting firm for transport projects, the ministry announced on June 19th.

The three companies are the France-based Egis Group, the French SYSTRA Group, and the Egyptian Shaker Consultancy Group.

The new company aims to exchange expertise in the transport sector as well as train Egyptian engineers and technicians to localize technical and engineering expertise in Egypt.

This alliance will contribute to expanding the scope of work in Egypt as a hub in the Middle East and Africa (MEA), Minister of Transport Kamel El-Wazir noted.

The new consulting firm will offer services in several transport fields, including conducting feasibility studies, providing designing consultations, supervising projects’ execution, offering technical support, providing financial and legal assistance, and preparing the required documents to facilitate projects’ financing, he added.
