Egypt, Hungary mull establishing railway carriages’ maintenance centers in East Port Said

Arab Finance: The Suez Canal Economic Zone’s (SCZone) Chairman Waleid Gamal El-Dein and officials from Hungarian firm working in the manufacture of railway carriages probed possible ways of establishing service and maintenance centers for the Hungarian company in East Port Said, according to a statement by the SCZone on February 4th.

The Hungarian firm is currently cooperating with the Egyptian National Company for Railway Industry (NERIC) in the industrial zone in East Port Said to supply 1,350 railway trains, 500 of which will be received during the coming months.

Gamal El-Dein also met with representatives of major Hungarian companies working in communications and information technology, where they discussed ways of boosting bilateral cooperation in this field.

On February 2nd, Gamal El-Dein held several meetings in the Hungarian capital, Budapest, with officials from the Hungarian Export Promotion Agency (HEPA) to discuss investment opportunities in the industrial zones and ports of both sides.
