Arab Finance: The Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement (UPA) signed a contract to supply $24 million worth of local pharmaceuticals to Zambia, under which the first shipment has been delivered, according to a cabinet statement.
The pharmaceutical manufacturers are currently preparing for the second shipment.
This came during a meeting between Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and Chairman of UPA Bahaa El-Din Zidan to follow up on a number of the authority’s activities.
During the meeting, Zidan presented the executive situation of the establishment of six strategic storehouses across the country.
The development plan of ambulance pharmacies, known as Ambulance Pharmacy 24, affiliated with the Egyptian Pharmaceutical Trading Company (Egydrug) was also discussed during the meeting.
Furthermore, Zidan said that the parent company of Servier Egypt pumped investments of around $17.9 million into the country last September.
