EGX ends Tuesday’s trading session on varied note

Arab Finance: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) showed a varied performance on Tuesday, with the EGX30 index down 0.12% to 54,930.89 points.

The Shariah index rose by 0.67% to 6,650.23 points. On the other hand, the EGX35-LV dropped by 0.27% to 6,753.06 points.

Both the EGX70 index and the EGX100 index closed the session lower by 0.10% at 20,460.44 points and by 0.02% at 26,994.7 points, respectively.

A total of 2.125 billion shares were exchanged at EGP 9.741 billion over 212,100 transactions, with the market cap hitting EGP 4.342 trillion.

Retail investors dominated 75.74% of trading transactions, while institutions equaled 24.25%.

Egyptians took over 88.8% of total trading, while foreign and Arab investors represented 9% and 2.2%, respectively.

Foreign and Arab traders were net sellers with EGP 376.957 million and EGP 25.723 million, respectively. Meanwhile, Egyptian investors were buyers with EGP 402.681 million.
