Egypt’s passenger traffic growth to exceed global average through 2050: IATA

Arab Finance: Passenger traffic growth in Egypt is expected to exceed the global average, ranging between 3.4% and 3.8% over the 2024–2050 period, the Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC) said, citing the International Air Transport Association (IATA).

According to OAG, a global travel data provider, Egypt is Africa’s largest aviation market in terms of operational capacity, with a total of 3.1 million available seats on flights scheduled for September 2026, up 13.4% year on year, IDSC added.

OAG also pointed out that Cairo International Airport ranks as Africa's busiest airport for September 2026 in terms of available seats, offering a total of 1.79 million seats.

EgyptAir and Air Cairo are among the top 10 airlines in Africa in terms of seat capacity for September 2026.
