Madbouly declares August 27 as official holiday for Prophet Muhammad’s birthday

Arab Finance: Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly issued a decree declaring Thursday, August 27, 2026, a paid public holiday in observance of Prophet Muhammad’s birthday, as per a statement.

The holiday will replace Tuesday, August 25, which coincides with the 12th of Rabi' Al-Awwal of the Hijri year 1448.

The decision applies to employees in ministries, government agencies, public authorities, local administration units, public sector companies, and public business sector companies.
