Arab Finance: Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has issued a decree designating Thursday, May 7th, 2026, as an official paid holiday in observance of Labor Day, as per a statement.
The decision applies to employees across ministries, government departments, public authorities, local administration units, public sector companies, public business sector companies, as well as the private sector.
The occasion falls on Friday, May 1st, but the government said in 2020 it would move all mid-week vacation days, except Eid Al-Fitr, Eid Al-Adha, and Coptic Christmas, to the end of the week, in order to give workers the chance to enjoy a long weekend.
