Unemployment Rate Slightly Up in Q3 2023

The unemployment rate in Egypt rose to 7.1% during the third quarter (Q3) of 2023, inching up by 0.1% quarter-on-quarter (QoQ), according to data from CAPMAS.
The labor force in Egypt increased by 3.2% in Q3 of this year to 31.956 million workers.
The number of employed reached 29.69 million in Q3 2023, the data showed.
The unemployment rate among males recorded 4.8% of total male labor force participation, while unemployed females made up 17.2% of total female labor force participation.
