Egypt’s Non-Oil Exports Hike in Q1 2024

In the first quarter (Q1) of 2024, Egypt witnessed a significant surge in its non-oil exports, reaching a total of $9.612 billion, reflecting a notable year-on-year growth rate of 5.3%.

Among the top exporting sectors driving this growth are building materials, which accounted for $1.96 billion in exports, followed closely by food products at $1.55 billion and chemicals & fertilizers at $1.45 billion.

Additionally, the agriculture and engineering sectors contributed substantially, with exports amounting to $1.44 billion and $1.27 billion, respectively.

These robust export figures, as reported by the Ministry of Trade and Industry, highlight the diversified nature of Egypt's economy and its ability to capitalize on various sectors to drive sustainable growth and economic prosperity.

The Egyptian government is targeting to increase exports by 15% to 20% annually.
