Egypt welcomes 14.9M tourists in 2023

Arab Finance: Egypt received a record-breaking number of tourists in 2023, reaching 14.906 million people in 2023, which surpassed a previous record of 14.731 million tourists in 2010, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities stated on January 17^th.

In the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2023, a total of 3.6 million tourists visited Egypt, marking an increase of about 8% year on year (YoY); however, the number is lower by 600,000 tourists from planned for the period.

It was reported before that Egypt aims to increase the number of visitors from Arab countries to 4.5 million tourists in 2024 from about 3.1 million tourists in 2022.
