Telecom Egypt, NaiTel to build Coral Bridge subsea cable

Arab Finance: Telecom Egypt and NaiTel, a telecommunications service provider in Jordan, have joined forces to construct a subsea cable named "Coral Bridge" linking Egypt and Jordan, Telecom Egypt stated.

The Coral Bridge will traverse the Gulf of Aqaba, establishing a robust point-to-point infrastructure between Taba on the Egyptian side and Aqaba on the Jordanian side.

It is poised to leverage the geographical advantages of the region to meet the international community's needs and serve as a central hub for traffic flowing between East and West.

As the first subsea system in the Gulf of Aqaba since 1997, the Coral Bridge will aggregate traffic flow within the fully neutral facility of the Aqaba Digital Hub.

“Building the new “Coral Bridge” subsea cable between Egypt and Jordan enhances the efforts made to consolidate bilateral relations between the two countries in the field of communications and information technology,” Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology of Egypt, stated.
