Arab Finance: Jaz Hotel Group is working to increase the number of its hotel rooms by about 2,500 rooms this year in the Red Sea, Cairo, and the North Coast branches, CEO Alaa Aqel told Asharq Business.
This represents an increase of 17%, bringing the group’s total hotel capacity to 20,000 rooms by the end of 2024, through pumping new investments estimated at EGP 6.5 billion.
Jaz Hotel Group is owned by Travco International Group which manages about 65 hotels in Egypt, distributed across all tourist areas, especially the Red Sea, Luxor, Aswan, and the North Coast.
Egypt’s tourist arrivals grew by 6% year on year (YoY) during the first 50 days of 2024.
It is worth noting that Egypt received a record-breaking number of tourists in 2023, reaching 14.906 million people.
