Arab Finance: Schneider Electric and Crédit Agricole Egypt Foundation for Development have completed the second phase of their joint community development projects in Ezbet Ateya, Menoufia governorate, according to a press release.

Under both entities’ joint efforts, the development projects included the installation of a solar-powered irrigation pump and a 1.5-kilometer canal lining in Tita village.

Tita village is located in the heart of the Nile Delta, with a population of approximately 20,000 residents.

Predominantly populated by farmers, the village relies heavily on farming and agriculture as its primary economic activity.

The project in Tita village is poised to generate value for the local community, boost energy efficiency, optimize resource utilization, and enhance decarbonization efforts.

It is also expected to bode well for its residents by raising the income of 1,200 farmers and 200 families and facilitating irrigation across 120-200 feddans.

“This reaffirms our unwavering dedication to advancing sustainability as a fundamental principle of our operations and values, aiming to create a positive impact within local communities while maximizing the utilization of available resources and accelerating progress towards a climate-positive world,” Sebastien Riez, Cluster President of Schneider Electric Northeast Africa and Levant, said.

“Using clean technologies in Tita village helps create a positive impact on the environment and ensures a better, efficient use of water resources for agricultural land irrigation,” Jean-Pierre Trinelle, Chairman of Crédit Agricole Egypt Foundation for Development and Managing Director and Crédit Agricole Egypt, commented.

“We look forward to continuing providing funding to development projects, for building a more sustainable future and enhancing people's lives,” Trinelle added.
