Arab Finance: Egypt aims to increase its trade exchange with the European Union (EU) countries by nearly 10% to €35.9 billion in 2024 from €32.6 billion in 2023, Head of the Egyptian Commercial Service in the Ministry of Trade and Industry Yahya Elwathik Bellah told Asharq Business.
The country’s exports to EU nations reached €11.5 billion last year, of which non-oil exports amounted to €8.6 billion, he said.
Meanwhile, Egyptian imports from EU countries totaled €21.1 billion in 2023, he added.
Elwathik Bellah also noted that Italy tops the list of EU countries importing Egyptian products, comprising 22.83% of total exports, trailed by Spain at 12.9%, Greece at 12.3%, Germany at 9.7%, and the Netherlands at 9.6%.
