Egypt, Sierra Leon probe cooperation in industrial, transport sectors

Arab Finance: Egyptian Minister of Transport and Industry Kamel El Wazir met with the Sierra Leonean Ambassador to Cairo Sadiq Silla to discuss cooperation opportunities in the industrial and transport sectors, according to a statement.

Moreover, both sides mulled over bolstering the volume of maritime trade, with the Sierra Leonean side expressing interest in fostering collaboration in the maritime transport sector to operate a shipping line between the two countries.

This line would facilitate the transportation of Sierra Leonean goods, such as palm oil, to Egypt and Egyptian goods and products to Sierra Leone and other African countries.

The meeting also tackled potential collaboration between the Egyptian and Sierra Leonean ports to establish and develop ports in Sierra Leon.

It also touched upon the possibility of cooperation in the industrial sector by leveraging the Sierra Leonean raw materials, including palm oil and others.
