Egypt’s annual core inflation rate records 25% in September: CBE

Arab Finance: Egypt's annual core inflation rate recorded 25% in September, compared to 25.1% in August, according to a press release from the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE).

The monthly core consumer price index (CPI) inflation hit 1% in September, compared to 1.1% in September 2023 and 0.9% in August 2024.

The data also revealed that the annual urban headline inflation rate hit 26.4% in September, versus 26.2% in August.

Meanwhile, the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) reported that Egypt’s annual headline inflation narrowed to 26% in September, compared to 40.3% in the same month of 2023.
