Arab Finance: Tax services will improve significantly with the full implementation of the first package of tax facilities before the end of the current fiscal year (FY), the Egyptian Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk said.
In his meeting with the parliamentary bloc of the Republican People's Party in the Administrative Capital, Kouchouk pointed out that the Egyptian Tax Authority (ETA) prepared the sample audits for all taxpayers in various tax centers, offices, and areas.
A trial e-central clearing system has been launched for taxpayers’ dues and debts to the government, providing them with cash liquidity, the minister said.
Integrating the informal economy will commence gradually when taxes largely back small, medium, and large taxpayers, he added.
The government aims for investors to achieve good profits within a clear framework of rights and obligations that establishes a successful partnership with the ETA, the minister highlighted.
Moreover, Kouchouk explained that the authority’s initiative targets correcting some administrative decisions, noting that new facilities regarding customs and property tax systems will be offered to citizens and investors.
He added that the simplified tax system reflects the importance of supporting entrepreneurship projects and digital exports, taking into account that the country’s IT service exports are growing.
