Egypt’s annual core inflation hits 23.2% in December: CBE

Arab Finance: Egypt’s annual core consumer price index (CPI) inflation recorded 23.2% in December 2024, compared to 23.7% last November, according to the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) data.

The monthly core CPI inflation hit 0.9% last December, compared with 1.3% in December 2023 and 0.4% in November 2024.

As per the CBE, the monthly urban headline CPI inflation reached 0.2% in December 2024, lower than 0.5% in November 2024.

Meanwhile, the annual urban headline CPI inflation hit 24.1% last December, compared to 25.5% in November 2024.

On January 9th, the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) showed that Egypt's annual headline inflation hit 23.4% in December 2024, compared to 25% in November.
