Arcius Energy explores investment opportunities in Egypt's natural gas sector

Arab Finance: Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi met with the Chairman of Arcius Energy Nasser Al-Yafei to discuss the company’s activities in its concessions in Egypt and explore new investment opportunities in the natural gas sector, as per a statement.

It is worth noting that Arcius Energy is a joint venture (JV) of the UK's bp and the Emirati XRG in Egypt.

The discussions highlighted BP and XRG’s ambition to make Egypt a strategic hub for their operations in the Eastern Mediterranean region.

Badawi emphasized that the companies’ decision to launch their JV in Egypt reflects the country’s favorable investment climate in the petroleum sector.

He reiterated the ministry’s commitment to providing full support to foreign companies in oil, gas, and mining, noting that strategic partnerships and integrated efforts are key to achieving success in the sector.

He also pointed to Egypt’s ongoing efforts to diversify its energy mix and increase the role of renewable energy while maximizing the value of its natural resources.

Al-Yafei praised Egypt’s potential as an investment destination, expressing Arcius Energy’s interest in expanding operations in the country and strengthening ties between Egypt and the UAE.

He also mentioned that XRG, an investment company affiliated with ADNOC and specializing in low-carbon energy and chemicals, will take part in the the upcoming Egypt Energy Show (EGYPES 2025).
