Arab Finance: Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Hassan El-Khatib has participated in the "DisrupTech Nile" event in Luxor, as per a statement.
In his speech during the event, El-Khatib reviewed the investment scene in Egypt, outlining the state's future plans to enhance the business environment.
The minister added that the government aims to adopt further reforms within the financial, monetary, and trade policies to facilitate the movement of foreign trade in Egypt.
The two-day event brought together 150 local and global investors, government officials, and entrepreneurs from four continents, to showcase successful business models in Egypt and the Middle East.
The event was attended by French Ambassador to Egypt Eric Chevalier, Deputy CEO of the National Bank of Egypt (NBE) Soha El-Turky, and Apis Partners’ Managing Partner and Co-Founder Udayan Goyal.
Ahmed Shams El Din, Head of Research at EFG Hermes, Karim Abdel Aziz, Head of Digital Payments at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), and Amr El Abd, CEO of Endeavor Egypt, also attended the event.
Established in 2022 with a fund size of $36 million, DisrupTech Ventures is one of the most prominent venture capital (VC) funds in Egypt.
The fund's investors include key institutions such as IFC, Proparco, the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (MSMEDA), Avanz, and Sango Capital.
