Arab Finance: Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi and President of Integrated Gas at Shell Plc Cederic Cremers discussed regional integration plans to develop Cyprus's Aphrodite gas field, as per an official statement.

The meeting addressed ways to expand Cypriot natural gas discoveries, leveraging the infrastructure of the Egyptian gas sector under the agreement recently signed at the Egypt Energy Show (EGYPES 2025).

Furthermore, Badawi and Cremers highlighted Shell's ongoing projects in the West Nile Delta deepwater concession, especially phases 10 and 11, which are essential to increasing Egypt's gas production.

The two sides also explored collaboration in LNG operations at the Idku facility, boosting energy efficiency, carbon reduction, and driving environmental sustainability.

On his part, the minister called for accelerating production from newly drilled wells to meet local demand and lower energy import costs.
