Arab Finance: The first week of April has witnessed a handful of events in Egypt, despite the Eid El-Fitr holiday, on top of which are the European Parliament’s approval for a €4 billion tranche for the country and US President Donald Trump's announced tariffs on all imports.

1- EU approves €4B MFA tranche for Egypt

The European Parliament approved the second tranche worth €4 billion of the European Union's (EU) Macro-Financial Assistance (MFA) package for Egypt during its session on April 1st.

Egypt’s net foreign assets (NFAs) hit EGP 515.856 billion in February 2025, higher than EGP 437.261 billion in January, the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) data showed.
