Arab Finance: The exchange rate between the USD and the Egyptian pound jumped at major local banks on Thursday, October 22, exceeding the EGP 55 mark.
The USD was quoted at EGP 55.25 for buying and EGP 55.35 for selling at the National Bank of Egypt (NBE) by 2:45 PM.
It reached EGP 55.27 for purchase and EGP 55.37 for sale at Al Baraka Bank.
The exchange rate hit the same value at the United Bank and the Commercial International Bank of Egypt (CIB).
At Banque Misr, the USD traded at EGP 55.23 for buying and EGP 55.33 for selling.
