Arab Finance: Finance Minister Mohamed Maait said that 295,000 companies have joined Egypt’s e-invoice system since its launch with an average of more than 1.25 million invoices daily, according to a ministry statement on February 19th.
Maait confirmed that the e-invoice system is one of the most important and most advanced global tax tools in reducing the informal economy.
Meanwhile, Head of the Egyptian Tax Authority (ETA) Mukhtar Tawfiq said that the deadline given to individual entities to join the e-invoice system will expire by the end of next April.
Tawfiq pointed out that ETA launched free technical support campaigns for taxpayers to enroll on the e-invoicing, adding that it would be available via mobile busses across all governorates in specific days of the week that are announced through the authority's official pages on social media.
