Egypt allocates over 1 million square meters in South Magawish for tourism projects

Arab Finance: The Tourism Development Authority (TDA) has issued 16 final land allocation decrees covering more than one million square meters in the South Magawish Tourism Center, south of Hurghada in the Red Sea Governorate, for integrated hotel, service, and leisure projects, as per a statement.

The plots fall within approved tourism center master plans, TDA CEO Mostafa Abdel-Wahab stated. The developments will add approximately 856 hotel rooms, alongside professionally managed accommodation units, while an expansion of an existing project will bring its capacity to 946 hotel units.

The allocations also include approval for two water parks, one of which will be run by an international operator, as well as tourism service centers and luxury leisure areas. These facilities are intended to serve existing and future tourism projects and broaden the range of products and services available to visitors.

Abdel-Wahab added that TDA is monitoring implementation against approved schedules to ensure the projects enter service on time and meet the region’s tourism development goals.

Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Randa El-Menshawy said the allocations reflect the government’s efforts to make greater use of tourism and investment opportunities across Egypt’s tourist destinations.

She emphasized the importance of creating conditions that attract further investment and support integrated projects that contribute to sustainable development and improve destinations’ efficiency and competitiveness.
