Egypt’s Top Sector’s Employment

During the second quarter (Q2) of 2023, agriculture and fishery were the largest contributing sectors to employment in Egypt, with 18.8% of employed Egyptians working in those sectors.

Wholesale and retail, construction and building and transformative industries sectors ranked next with 14.6%, 14.1%, and 13%, respectively.

Transport and storage and education had shares in total employment at 9.3% and 7.5%.
