Egypt’s labor force reached 30.34 million citizens during the second quarter (Q2) of the current financial year (FY) 2022/23, of which 28.16 million individuals are employed, according to the country’s stats body CAPMAS.
The number of unemployed reached 2.18 million in the three-month period ended December 31st, 2022, accounting for 7.2% of the labor force.
The unemployment rate among males recorded 4.7% of the total male labor force participation in Q2 of the current FY, while unemployed females made up 19.3% of the total female labor force participation.
