Egypt’s balance of payment (BoP) witnessed an overall surplus of $4.1 billion during the first nine months of the previous fiscal year (FY) 2023/2024, compared to a surplus of $281.9 million in the same period of FY 2022/2023, according to a report by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE).
The report also showed that the current account deficit climbed to $17.1 billion.
The capital and financial account registered a net inflow of $20 billion from July 2023 to March 2024, up from m $8.1 billion in the year-ago period.
During the first half (H1) of the previous FY2023/24, Egypt’s BoP saw an overall deficit of $409.6 million.
