Egypt allocates EGP 10M to Baheya Foundation for medical supplies

Arab Finance: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has directed the allocation of EGP 10 million to Baheya Foundation For Early Detection & Treatment Of Breast Cancer to enhance its medical equipment and supplies, as per a statement.

The move reaffirms the government’s commitment to supporting institutions that provide free healthcare services.

The announcement came during Madbouly’s visit to the hospital in Sheikh Zayed City, Giza, where he was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Social Solidarity Maya Morsi, Giza Governor Adel El-Naggar, and Baheya Foundation officials.

During the visit, Madbouly praised Baheya Hospital’s role in early detection and treatment of breast cancer, describing it as a pioneering institution dedicated to women's health.

He emphasized the government’s support for medical institutions that offer free services in line with international standards, particularly those focusing on cancer care.

Health Minister Abdel Ghaffar also highlighted the state's efforts to make Egypt free of breast cancer, stressing the importance of early detection and awareness in improving recovery rates.

Baheya extends its services beyond treatment, with an extensive awareness program that has reached more than 65,000 women through over 1,700 seminars held across schools, universities, government institutions, and shopping centers.

The hospital’s early detection initiatives have benefited more than 510,000 women, contributing to recovery rates exceeding 98%.

Additionally, Baheya provides integrated medical treatment, including surgical procedures, chemotherapy, hormone therapy, and physical therapy.

Over the past decade, Baheya Hospital has provided over one million outpatient services, conducted two million lab tests, performed 955,000 radiology scans, administered 315,000 radiotherapy sessions, and carried out 23,000 surgeries.

The institution has received 270,000 patients and remains committed to expanding its services to support even more women.
