Arab Finance: Minister of Planning and Economic Development Hala El-Said announced that borrowing on concessional terms would only take place when necessary for long-term projects that could generate development receipts, according to a statement on June 5^th.

She added that these projects will be only related to food security and energy.

The economic and social development plan for the new fiscal year’s (FY) 2023/2024 budget plan includes the investment targets, with a main focus on projects that are about 70% complete, the minister noted.

El-Said added that the government has set a plan to boost the participation of the private sector, referring to the country’s exit from some sectors.
