Monetary Indicators Performance in 2023

Headline Annual Inflation Rate in Egypt grew by 8.7% from January to December 2023, hitting 35.2% in the last month of the year, up from 26.5% in the first month of 2023, data from CAPMAS revealed.

The Egyptian pound traded at around 30.9 per USD in December, up from EGP 28.8 in January, a growth of 7.3%, according to the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE).
